12 Weeks beginning NOV 12th - FEB 11th (2 Week Break 24th & 31st DEC)

Here you will be taking your first enticing steps into the world of burlesque performance where Coco Belle will guide you towards discovering your inner allure and captivating the world with your unique flair. A firm believer in empowerment through self-expression, Coco has curated workshops and masterclasses that delve deep into the art of burlesque, covering everything from classic moves to innovative storytelling.
Over the 12 weeks you will work towards creating your own individual acts with Coco’s guidance, along with 2 group acts to open and close the showcase at the end of the course.
This performance course is for those who have never performed or have little experience with performing and want to challenge themselves by doing something a little daring (trust me you won’t regret it!) In this course you will discover burlesque techniques such as ‘the art of tease’, ‘holding space’, ‘walking and moving with confidence’, ‘conveying captivating expression and sensuality’, ‘costume and act creation’.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
1. The History of Burlesque: Delve into the rich history of burlesque, from its origins as a form of satire to its evolution into a celebration of sensuality and style. Learn about iconic figures who have shaped its legacy and left an indelible mark on entertainment.
2. Movement and Choreography: Discover the art of alluring movement and elegant choreography. Coco will guide you through a range of new graceful gestures, sensual poses, and mesmerising walks, helping you to build on your unique stage persona.
3. Costume and Wardrobe: Explore the world of glamorous costumes, from elaborate corsets and feathered boas to sparkling accessories that capture the essence of burlesque glamour. Continue learning how to craft a captivating look that complements your individual style and story.
4. The Art of Tease: Build upon the tantalising secrets of the art of tease – a delicate balance of seduction and suggestion. Master techniques in fan dancing, glove & stocking peels, boa manipulation, leaving your audience spellbound and craving for more.
SHOWCASE
The showcase will be held at the Jackdaw Theatre which is located next to Training Points and owned by Gavin Rookledge. It’s a really special theatre and the perfect place to perform your burlesque showcase.
EXTRA OPTIONAL COSTS
During the showcase there is the option to have your act documented. The cost of which can vary depending on how many of you decide to opt in. Typically the costs are around £40 for video and £40 for Images.
